The 21st Century Scholars Program is designed to give our students an opportunity to follow their passions and explore personal interests while becoming more well-rounded, global citizens. Additionally, students will create electronic portfolios to records their new experiences, including online courses, discussion, hands on learning, and more. 1. Is this mandatory?
No, this is a voluntary program available to students in grades 9-12.
2. When does this begin?
The program is effective as of October, 2011. Students may begin to accumulate points by going to
the website, looking at the online portfolio and choosing activities they wish to participate in.
3. How will I be able to learn about upcoming events?
Information about upcoming events (e.g., trips, guest lecturers, book discussions) will be disseminated via
the 21st Century Scholar Website.
4. How many points do I need to accumulate to receive the 21st Century Scholar Diploma?
Students will need to accumulate 100 points in seven core themes. Please click on the green points system tab on the left.
5. I am a Senior or a Junior. Do I have to still get to 100 points?
We agree that no one can get to 100 points in one or two years. Seniors wishing to participate will have
to get 25 points. Juniors wishing to participate will have to fulfill 50 points. We acknowledge that is
tough, but we felt it necessary to maintain the integrity of the program.

7. How do I sign up?
Click on the sign up here link and complete the form. You will receive an email with a link and an access code. Once logged into schoology.com be sure to set up Notifications so you receive email and texts as soon as new events are posted.
8. When do events take place?
All events take place either before or after school. Some events occur on the weekends.
9. How much does it cost to join?
Most 21 Century Scholars events are completely free. However, occasionally there may be a modest cost for materials and/or transportation.
10. What do I get for completing the program?
After you've earned your required points you will be honored with a 21st Century Scholars certificate at the Senior Awards Assembly. We are also hoping to have a scholarship in place for all recipients.
